There is a load in the dryer and a load in the WASHER!
And this is very significant.
Two weeks ago the Frigidaire, front-loading, high-capacity, Gallery washer we had started to make this HORRIBLE clunking noise when it was working.
So after a few minutes on the Internet (and remember it was pouring outside for days straight), I decided to take said washing machine apart. There, I found that more engineers than just the ones who design bathrooms are fond of impossibly tight places and badly "placed" components.
Furthermore, I found that stainless steel is not stainless. Moreover, it rots. Ick.
The mount that held the inner, spinning tub was "Broken." Completely.
More investigation and I realized that this part was almost half the cost of a new machine. And this is not the time to be making capital purchases.
So, I decided to do without.
Big Mistake.
Between daily workouts, three dogs and a roommate, the machine gets used a lot. And it costs a bundle, pun intended, to have the chinaman (errr, Latino woman) do your laundry by the pound. And they don't fold right.
So, off I went to craigslist.com to find a used machine. Which I accomplished in like 20 minutes. Phone calls made, I hitched a ride up to Denton last night with Roberto and bought a newer used washer for just about what I paid in laundry costs last week.
Got it home and hooked it up. Started a load and couldn't get it to work. Crap, we broke it.
But actually, no, we just forgot to open the water hoses after we screwed them in place. Phew.
So, it's on its second load right now.
It doesn't hold as much as the front loader.... but then it spins the clothes better so they go in the dryer dryer.... (sorry, can't fix that English).
I feel so... smart!
Can you believe this is all it takes? So yeah, I'm doing laundry. Don't knock it until you can't....
You never know what will make your heart spin (pun intended).
