* The name of the company that does the very best gluten-free crackers ever is Lazzaroni. The cracker is called Snackini. I was able to buy them at Safeway, which happens to own Tom Thumb. Consider them an appropriate gift - always - no matter what the occassion.
* The problem is the that every time I visit Oregon, it's sunny. It's hard to convince yourself that the grayness would be a hardship when the weather there is always so blasted nice.
*My uncle said I would never be a diplomat. My uncle was wrong about many things... but this error in his judgement gives me the most joy.
*I bought three new black bras in Oregon. All the same size. The first two did not fit. So I gave them to my mom. They seem to fit her fine. The idea was to buy inexpensive bras at a discount store (read: Marshalls), but the truth is that you get what you pay for. I got a gift for my mother.
*While I was home, I noticed that my parents house was incredibly calm and pleasant. They have almost all of their stuff packed up because the house is on the market. This makes me sad. I have always accumulated things slowly, but it seems that even I have gone beyond the point of what I can house in my little house. I have a couple of choices, I guess. I can give the things away. I can store them while I add on to my little house. Or I can try living with the things I have longer...
*It turns out that US Airways, with hubs in Phoenix and Las Vegas, does not fly animals. Ever. It is very often over 100 degrees in both those locations. So it makes sense. Except I did not check this before I bought the ticket for my trip to Oregon. So, Keena remains with me. She is very happily hanging out in the office today. The only girl. But I think my folks need her as much as she needs them. And I know my dogs need a break. And sooner, rather than later.
* Dad has this new idea. He's going to drive my things to me. Via Palm Springs and Phoenix. I think it's a great idea... and I bet I can fly he and Mom home from Dallas relatively cheaply. And we'll fly an Airline that let's Keena go along, too.
*Funny thing. I have never, ever wanted to write a screen play. I like short stories. But because my friend Bruce lee is involved in filmmaking -- the screening for Sans Vie was last night in Seatlle -- I have suddenly begun messing with the idea of a plot. What is required. What will be compelling. What on earth am I thinking.
*The fleas are awful this year. And it turns out that I have a four-pronged battle ahead of me.
1. I have to spray the yard once a week for four weeks -- that it the lifecycle of the flea.
2. I have to put down diatomacious earth to keep them out.
3. I have to bathe the dogs once a week for four weeks to kill the fleas, larvae and eggs on the dogs.
4. I have to treat the dogs once a week for four weeks to deter new fleas.
Or I guess I could ignore it, but the SPCA is likely to send in DPS - Dog Protective Services.
*I don't want George Bush's library to be built at SMU
* Alberto Gonalez was not gone fast enough to save the country. The next administration has a lot of wrongs to undo and a lot of rights to implement in order to stabilize the rule of law and halt the backlash against government.
*Hurricane Katarina was two years ago today. President Bush's biggest failure. That is all...
*And that is all for now.
