When your dog takes himself for a walk and it is cold outside, assume he will come back home on his own. Dogs almost always do. Really.

Try telling someone you're close to what you like about them. I know. I know. But I bet it's been a long time since you said anything.
*
Pet your pets. Do it. Not just a pat, but stroking... real, loving, energetic touch. You know what it feels like to be massaged. Well, they do too.
*
Sometimes it's 71 degrees at 7 a.m. in the morning and by the time you walk home that night (and before it's even dark) it's below freezing. That's why we call it Texas.
*
Fries and Rice sound remarkably similar. Especially when you are listening with Turkish ears that have been Germanized.
*
It is also OK, and you're just going to have to trust me on this, to have ice cream for dinner. I promise.

I might be the only person on the planet who likes meetings, but I do. I love them. And I take from them more energy than I give. That is why I am a classic recruiter. I love to network. I love to interview. I love to happy hour. I love to meet.

There was a point when I became completely independent. I bought the house. I helped make decisions for my folks. I built my own deck.
I no longer need anyone for anything akin to survival or even wholeness.
But I cannot hold myself.
I can't stoke my hair, kiss my forehead or lay next to myself and listen for my breathing.
That is reason enough.
