It has taken me a week to decompress and feel human. Suffice it to say that the staffing company is on hold for now and we are all looking for other ways to make a living while this economy heals, the election takes place and the holidays come on and take over...
However, sitting at home with a heating pad on one's back and the rain falling outside is not the best - check that - except for the heating pad, this has been an incredibly productive and almost perfect day.
No news from my partners, so I assume that they are doing other things as well.
One more trip to gather belongings and one more day of organizing things here at the house, and then it's all about the future.
***
And the first order of future business is a training schedule. I want to be able to run at Tyler this year. I need to begin with the first step - which is 15 minutes of running every morning outside my house until I am ready for the trail at OCNP. I just need to do something good for myself. All my dietary adjustments have been for naught as the exercise has fallen by the wayside.
Oh, and I need to rock climb. Maybe I can even go on Thursday.

The dogs and I are eating popcorn. This involves the dogs sitting in rapt attention in front of me... bigger ones in the front, smaller in the back.... as I put one piece of popcorn in my mouth and throw one to each of them. It's already the 100 calorie variety, but this way I'm getting maybe 15 calories and they're getting the rest.

Is popcorn high in fiber?

I believe in euthanizing dogs that cannot be redeemed. I am just afraid that my roommate is going to become the executioner if we don't find a resolution for Mrs. Davis's barking backyard denizens. She doesn't even spend time with them or let them in the house... so I don't know what good they are. And, no other human can get near them as they are terribly vicious. So, I think that in this case, it's better to euthanize them than to let them spread disease, die horrible or painful deaths - or worse, piss Amy off to the point of no return.

Grant and Ginny's wedding was very simple and very tasteful and very appropriate. The reception was beautifully located and well planned. The only problem, and some of you will understand the irony for me in this, was that the map was UPSIDE DOWN! It's OK... Amy and I were only lost for 30 0r 45 minutes. But it was enough time to seriously doubt myself and my directional abilities. Still, we managed to arrive and toasted the bride and groom. All's well that ends well. They are off in Belize. I'd say, well, good beginning, anyway!

It's been 12 days since I bought the new bed. My back is still out. But it's not worse because of the bed. And, wait, here's the really big news: the dust ruffle is finally in place! There is absolutely nothing left to do in my bedroom except ...
***
Wait. I still have different colored curtains on each of the windows. I can't find the seam tape. I think I might have allowed it to get thrown away. Damn... and I was going to say that I was finally finished redecorating in there. Oh well.

Do Oreck vacuums have a lifetime guarantee?

Last night Miss Jennamere pissed off Bailey, who took it out on her by biting her four different times. The worst of it was the gouge in her cheek. However, Jenna is the amazing super-fast healing canine. A bath in the sink, a bit of antibiotic ointment and Jenna is now her usual self.
She's even been messing with Bailey again today. She might be the death of me yet. Or rather, Bailey will be the death of her.

We took tables and chairs and my futon over to Chris's house so that there would be enough furnishings to qualify her for insurance. Mark took all the screws out of the two tables and took off the legs and transported them all over to Grapevine. Then, he went to put it back together again and found that the legs unscrewed from the bases that were screwed into the tables. No need to remove the 20 screws per table at all.

I cannot decide whether to watch design shows on T.V. or take a nap... but I can tell you that my back is not getting any better the longer I sit here thinking about it.

Which brings me to the most important item - and that is a gratitude list ... something I have not done in a long time.
I am grateful for the tenderness that is Mark's nature, I am grateful for Ikea, I am grateful for the deswign sense that lets me integrate Ikea and 45 year old Danish Modern teack furniture, I am grateful for the railing on the deck, I am grateful for a burnt out capacitor which costs just $5.12 to replace.
