My running friends wrote some cool poetry today...
From John M.
full moon
clear sky
old dark trails
Sirius, Orion, the Pleiades, Cassiopeia and on and on
city people don't know what they missed
mark dick's response:
Tall glass
shiny steel
cold marble
misty street lights
crowded sidwalks
country folks dont know what they are missing
Dennis Cox:
Fluffy pillow
warm blankets
white noise of ceiling fan
snuggling significant other
slobber on the pillow
sweet dreams
runners don't know what they are missing
Lisa B:
Fitful sleep
heavy eyelids
alarm blares
ignore its
nooze again
sunrise behind curtain
rush to work without a run
I know what I missed
Mark again:
smelly hotel
noisy streets
empty beer bottles
smoldering butts
vice squad pounding
wallet missing
maybe it's time to run
Rick Carr:
Short mornings
Longer days
Work now behind
Off to the trail
Catch the evening sun
Hiding behind the trees
Anxious thoughts evaporate
Nothing gone that cannot be missed
My contribution:
Sodden skies
extra coffee
Not enough time
to make a difference
struggle to bed
and struggle to rise
Not sure if, today, I'm worth missing...
