The non-miracle of modern medicine

Busy at work. Work eases the pain in my heart.
My friend Red Spicer is not improving. He was rushed to the hospital on Sunday. He collapsed.
We thought he was having symptoms from his Eaton Lambert's disease. They were administering an IV of Immuno-globulin to stop the wasting, but the symptoms did not receed. So they did an MRI of his brain and and EEG. They saw swelling and assumed Red had had two strokes. So they moved him to Cardiac ICU and began treatments for Stroke. The symptoms did not improve. So they looked again at the swelling. Since the treatments did not shrink the inflamation, they think he might have a brain tumor.
Red has had battles with skin cancer and when I saw him that cancer looked to be coming back with a vengence. I really hope that's not it. Red would not want to suffer and he wouldn't want Chemo and he wouldn't want Radiation.... he just wouldn't want it.
Anyway, I am leaving at 5 a.m. tomorrow to drive out to Amarillo. Jay Norman and Letha Cruthirds from NTTR are going with me.
Pray God he's conscious when we arrive. Just plain old pray.
