Some quotes from a friend... for hard times.

"Be patient toward all that is unsolved in your heart and try to love the questions themselves. Do not now seek the answers because you would not be able to live them. And the point is to live everything. (So)for the moment live the questions ..." Ranier Marie Rilke

"Though my soul may set in darkness it will rise in perfect light; I have loved the stars too fondly to be fearful of the night." - Sarah Williams

“That which remains unconscious comes to us as fate” - Carl Jung

"A life spent making mistakes is not only more honorable but more useful than a life spent doing nothing." George Bernard Shaw
"Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around." -- Dr. Leo Buscaglia

"There are two ways of spreading light: to be the candle or the mirror that reflects it." -- Edith Wharton

"Kind words and good deeds are eternal. You never know where their influence will end." -- H. Jackson Browne
"Life is necessarily a fair amount of struggle, but in the final analysis, there must be a bushel or ten of good times with good friends in good places to go along with all the sweat." Timothy Siebles

thank you for the encouraging words. We will all have hard times and need perspective in them. Hard times are like training runs, they hurt and tear down at the time, but build endurance for the long run.

running with you,

If hard times did not come, we'd not know the value of the good times either. Matter of fact, I still don't..just take them for granted when they are and weep for them when they pass, but never, ever, do I live in them the way I dwell in the hard times. Wonder why this is. I don't pray for good times any more..what I pray for is for steadyness and calm and the stoicism to enjoy both times with equanimity: which, in MY case, will mean I'll enjoy the good times more. One last thought on this subject...at least you're writing now :-)). Smile my friend, you forgot to mention your BEST feature: your 300 watt smile that comes from the heart, through the light of your shining eyes and warms everyone it falls on. Looking forward oh sooooo eagerly to the 25th. Love,Madhu
