So Monday morning, my coworker is at work bright and early just like normal.
She greets me just like normal - running to the cat food to get it up off the floor and away from the dog -- while squealing "Edgar" as she realizes we have puppy company for the day.
But it is two days after her wedding.
She is wearing her big shiny ring. And she is looking tired because she stayed up to watch Spamalot on closing night. We talk about the wedding and the reception and my leaving to attend an anniversary party.
Then work starts to happen.
At lunch, we are sitting around a table in our favorite bar and I ask her: "so now that it's over what advice would you have to, say, me -- if I were ever to think about getting married."
"ELOPE," she practically yells for emphasis.
That's what we'd been saying for months now.
It was a priceless moment.
